  • So this has been my box for about a year and a half. Pros: great community, and the coaches put a large amount of focus on form and development, to prevent injury and doing things right.  I've seen lots of poor / dangerous / neglecting versions at boxes across the country.  Also, it's an extremely inclusive environment, agnostic of ability. Cons: like every other box in nyc, you can't drop weights!

  • On a good week I make it to class 4-5 days a week. I’ve been a member of CFER for over 2 .5 years. I’ve gotten considerably stronger and have been getting a lot of comments on how slim I look. The coaches all give great feedback and make class fun! There is a great, supportive tribe of cross fitters at this gym! I order a few meals a week from Kettlebell Kitchen, which is delivered fresh to the gym twice a week. The owners are always around and are passionate about their gym; they regularly take and teach class and always pop in to be available for questions.

Do You Offer Personal Training?

Yes! Shoot an e-mail to coach@CrossFitEastRiver.com to get set up with an experienced coach. Private sessions can be 1-on-1 or semi-private. Use them to break through personal records, improve your lifting technique and demolish your weaknesses. Prices vary from trainer to trainer.

Do You Offer Any Discounted Plans?

Yes! We offer discounts for students, teachers, US/NATO service members and Veterans, law enforcement and first responders. We also offer a special rate for NYU students with valid NYU Card. Get in touch with us for specific rates.

Can I Put My Plan On Hold?

Yes! You can place your membership on hold for a maximum of 90 days. The minimum for a hold is 14 days. No extra fees. Please use the form here.

When Will I Be Billed?

Your membership is billed monthly on the day of the month that you originally signed up. If you’d like to move it to the 1st or 15th, please let us know.

Dogs In The Gym?

CFER Dog Policy: 
  • Please make sure your dog is clean before visiting the gym. 
  • Please leave your dog at home if they are caked in dirt, soaked from rain or snow, smelly from the heat, etc. 
  • Dog must have its NYC license tag and an up-to-date rabies vaccine tag visibly worn.
  • Dog must be free of any illnesses/pests/contagious diseases (cold, fleas, mange, etc.)
  • Dog must be behave during workouts/when unsupervised.
  • Dog must be socialized and play nicely with other dogs.
  • You are solely responsible for your dog when you bring it to the gym, no exceptions. This includes cleaning up after your dog, to include “a little shedding” and being responsible for any items they might damage.
  • No Dogs on weekends

Can I Break A Membership Commitment?

We realize that NYC living can be unpredictable. However, please only select a commitment length that you know you can honor.

Do You Offer Refunds?

No, we do not offer refunds for any reason. All our gym memberships automatically renew. See below for more details.

How Do I Cancel A Month-To-Month Membership?

If you have purchased a month-to-month/zero commitment membership or special package (such as the Intro Special), you have the ability to cancel before your next billing date.

Does My CFER Membership Work At Other Boxes?

No, each CrossFit gym is independently owned and operated. However, CrossFitters are known to show incredible hospitality to traveling CrossFitters. Get in touch with them first and let them know you’re a member with us.

How Do Class Reservations Work?

Our system is in place to make sure that all athletes have a fair chance at working out and receive the coaching they deserve.

-You’re spinning the wheel if you’re late, which means you’re probably doing some burpees.

-You can reserve sessions 48 hours in advance.

-You can cancel without penalty up to 30 minutes before a session on WODIFY.

-When you add your name to a session’s waitlist, you’ll be notified via email if a spot opens up.

-The spot is available on a first-come, first-served basis; you must reserve your spot in class.
